Cure Depression and Anxiety in Just Minutes?
Most people think that to treat depression and anxiety, the only options are drugs and years of psychotherapy. Yet many sufferers improve little with traditional forms of talk therapy. Drugs appear to help, but many continue to suffer even when on medication and feel that drugs only treat the symptoms without dealing with the cause. But recent advances in psychology are presenting a new picture of emotional difficulties that is giving hope to the anxiety and depression-ridden among us.
The latest studies into the functioning of the mind show that our thoughts create our feelings. All of our thinking, experiencing and remembering is made up visual, auditory and kinesthetic (feelings) elements. We take in information from the world around us through our senses and then represent (re-present) that information internally in the form of images, sounds, feelings or internal dialogue. Most often, these elements are unconscious, meaning simply that we are not consciously aware of them. For any behaviour or state we produce, be it something as commonplace as anger, fear, jealousy or guilt, or as severe as insomnia, depression, anxiety or panic, there is a series of mental steps we must go through to reach that result. It is the specific details of these unconscious internal representations and their sequence that determine our states and behaviours.
It’s like a recipe; the sequence of these mental steps and the amounts and qualities of each ingredient will determine the end result. So, if we are trying to bake a cake and it doesn’t turn out the way we want, we need to make some changes to the recipe.
Most people who suffer from depression, anxiety, or are prone to panic attacks ask themselves, “Why do I have this problem?” or “What is the cause?” But we can ask a strikingly different question: “How do you do that? By focusing on “the how” we can uncover the structure and process that this individual uses to produce this result, a result which they can skilfully obtain time after time. If someone is excellent feeling bad, they can put this skill towards producing something more resourceful and empowering.
Most people are unaware of their mental syntax, the sequence of internal representations and their qualities which coalesce to produce feelings and behaviour. When one becomes aware of what is happening “behind the scenes,” it becomes easy to make a few modifications and obtain different results.

Been feeling hyper today, wired, stressed out? Why wouldn’t you considering all the places you have to be, the things you have to do just right, the people you have to impress. Anxiety is part and parcel of modern living; so much so that you can spend the day alone doing exactly what you please and still at times feel on edge.
That’s because much of our anxiety concerns events and situations yet to come and the threats real and imagined they pose. Now, it may be keyed to specific real-world challenges: a job interview, a first date, an approaching deadline at work. Or it may be a more free-floating, ill-defined, existential unease aptly captured in W.H. Auden’s poem The Age of Anxiety.
Fortunately, most of us can tolerate feeling antsy. We know it’s just temporary and that we can turn for relief to breathing exercises, meditation, physical exercise, herbal teas, or alcohol, etc. These remedies alas don’t work as well for people suffering prolonged bouts of moderate to intense anxiety. In many instances, the root cause of their discomfort may be one of twelve recognized clinical disorders ranging from obsessive compulsive behavior, post-traumatic stress, phobias, panic attacks to generalized anxiety.
All of us have been very anxious from time to time and can testify to just how unpleasant the sensation can be. An overwhelming restlessness takes hold; you find yourself tapping you finger or foot, pacing back and forth, wringing your hands, darting your dilated eyes first here then there. You feel hunted and in a way you are by your own thoughts. It’s difficult to concentrate and easy to fall back into the same recurring thoughts-patterns. Most of the time, these are too morbid or fearful usually to be of much comfort.
Extreme anxiety can be accompanied by headaches, dizziness, nausea, sweating, numbness, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath. Worse lies in store for victims of panic attacks: seeming out of the blue they find themselves hyperventilating, have heart palpitations, tremble uncontrollably, sweat profusely, feel numb and/or dizzy and find swallowing difficult.
For all the relief anxiolytic drugs like Librium, Valium, Buspar, and Paxil can bring, they address the symptoms, not the underlying causes of anxiety. Only personalized therapy and counseling can do that. Understanding why you’re anxious, discovering the root causes and tracing them back to their origins, is very freeing. With the help and guidance of a supportive expert,

When your fight or flight response has been activated, your body becomes ready for action. This fight or flight response is your body’s way of protecting you from danger. Unfortunately during an anxiety attack there may actually be no imminent danger which may mean your body’s fight or flight response is faulty.
Anxiety attacks are a frustrating part of being diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and/or Anxiety Disorder. What can be most frustrating is how anxiety attacks affect your life. Attacks can come on suddenly as if out of nowhere, or they can slowly sneak up on you. Everyone’s body responds differently to an anxiety attack.
The main thing to know, understand, and eventually accept regarding anxiety attacks is that there is a reason for them. Figuring out the reason for the anxiety attack may be easy, but it may also take some time and reflection to discover the triggering event, experience, environmental influence, physiological, or psychological response.
Positive thinking while experiencing an anxiety attack may be a very difficult accomplishment. Negative thinking is a common occurrence, but that will only make matters worse and can cause the attack to continue or get worse. Remember that the anxiety attack has activated your body’s fight or flight response, and focusing on negative things like “this will never end” will not cause the attack to end, but re-framing your thoughts in a positive manner like “this will pass and I will make it through” may help you to take control. Taking control of the situation during an anxiety attack may seem impossible, but it is not if you put your mind to it. If for example, you have an anxiety attack while in a room full of crowded people, leave the room and get some space and air thus taking yourself out of the situation and allowing time to take some cleansing breaths, focusing only on the deep breathing and nothing else until you can center yourself once again. Your anxiety attack may make you feel out of control, but controlling the way you deal with the attack can give you back some semblance of control.
The best way to actually curb your anxiety attacks is to talk about them with a professional who can help you to figure out what triggers your attacks. A professional can also help you form a plan of action with ways to take care of yourself during an anxiety attack.

How Does Social Anxiety Feel?
Imagine this. The whole world exists in a large football stadium. The bleachers are filled with an infinite sea of people further than the eye can see. Every person in the world is seated in this stadium except you. You’re there too, but you’re alone in the middle of the arena, where you live and carry out the daily functions of your life. High-beam flood lights are all trained down on you, and each person in the bleachers has a pair of binoculars. They all seem to be enjoying themselves. They talk and laugh, eat popcorn and appear to be happy with their existence. Amidst all the “living” some of the crowd’s attention is always focused on you. They peer through their binoculars at the spectacle in the middle of the arena, which is you. You have the ability to read every single one of their thoughts about you. These thoughts are never kind but always negative and judgmental. You feel humiliated and ashamed but you can’t escape their scrutiny. You try to carry on your life and ignore the fact that your every move is being analyzed and judged harshly. Still, sometimes, all you can do is curl up in the middle of the arena and want to die. This is what social anxiety feels like.
Because it’s so difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced it, I have tried to paint a very graphic picture here to give the average person an idea of how it really feels to have social anxiety disorder. Now that you have some idea, imagine that you feel this way in most any situation in which you have to be around people, which for most of us is a good percentage of the time. For people with social anxiety going to work can feel like walking into purgatory everyday. They must somehow muster enough strength to endure eight hours, and then retreat to the safety of home. These are the ones who, with fortitude and incredible effort, manage to brave the searing flames and agony of hell each and every day. Others simply can’t stand the mental and emotional thrashing on a daily basis and find limited ways to maintain themselves with the basics we all need -food, clothes, and shelter – as well as they can. What makes this disorder even more frustrating is that the person who endures it knows that believing others are paying that much attention to them and judging them all the time is irrational. In spite of this, they can’t make it go away. It’s as though a switch in their head is stuck and they can’t turn it off.
There is a tremendous amount of guilt,

Anger is an emotion that each one of us has experienced at some pint of our lives. Anger can be caused from worry, stress, fear, fatigue or bad thoughts. There are five dimensions of anger that are cognition, emotion, affect, communication and behavior. These five dimensions of anger can seem uncontrollable for many people. When someone is out of control their anger can actually become unstoppable.
Uncontrollable anger is extremely dangerous. Some people lose their temper and experienced such high levels of anger that they harm another individual. Anger can not only hurt someone else but can cause the person who experienced the flash of anger to get into trouble with the law. Anger is an emotion that is controllable. A person that experiences outbursts or rages of anger should consider anger management.

Hypnosis is an effective tool for anger management. Hypnosis is a type of soothing therapy that is safe, gentle and positive. The way in which hypnosis works in on a subconscious level.
Someone who is undergoing hypnosis will be put into a state of deep relaxation. It is during this state of deep relaxation that the subconscious mind is the most open to new ideas and perspectives. As the state of relaxation continues the individual, undergoing hypnosis, will receive positive suggestions. These positive suggestions include motivational encouragement, confidence-building statements and a set plan to control anger. Hypnosis will help to alleviate the stress and anxiety one feels while increasing self-esteem and confidence, thus aiding anger management.
One who has undergone hypnosis will experience a new thinking and behavior patterns. These new patterns are what allow a person to finally control their anger and to reach a healthy level of anger management.
If you want to gain control of your anger then, as a practicing hypnotherapist, that you visit with a qualified hypnotherapist that is located in your area. Hypnosis can allow you to lead a happier and healthier life that is anger free. Instead of letting your anger control you take positive control of your anger through hypnosis.

Anxiety disorders are the most common of emotional disorders, annually affecting more than 20 million Americans. Anxiety which interferes with normal activities like going outside or interacting with other people. Anxiety attacks are the most extreme example of an anxiety reaction. Anxiety disorders fill people’s lives with overwhelming anxiety and fear. When anxiety reaches a level at which the symptoms cause the sufferer to experience symptoms which exceed those normally experienced during an appropriate anxiety reaction, an anxiety attack is formed. Anxiety reactions are formed in the subconscious mind by a small organ called the Amygdala. Anxiety attacks can be eliminated very simply. Because anxiety attacks and high anxiety are the result of a learning process in the subconscious mind which causes the amygdala to react inappropriately, it can be ‘un-learned’ in the same way. Anxiety attacks are strong sensations that for many people creates the feeling of dying or going crazy. Anxiety attacks, also called panic attacks, are unexpected episodes of intense terror or fear. Anxiety disorders tend to run in families. People with anxiety disorders often have a family history of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, or substance abuse.
Anxiety attacks usually come without warning, and although the fear is generally irrational, the perceived danger is very real. Symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks / anxiety attacks include racing heart, hyperventilation or breathing difficulties, as well as chest pain, nausea or dizziness, headaches, shaking and trembling, and many more. Anxiety can also exacerbate many pre-existing medical conditions, such as ulcers, hypertension, and respiratory conditions including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Furthermore, anxiety is associated with mitral valve prolapse, chronic fatigue syndrome, sleep apnea, irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic tension headaches. Behavioural therapy – performed with a mental health professional to help gain control over unwanted behaviour. Cognitive therapy – similar to behavioural therapy but dealing with unhelpful and unproductive thoughts patterns.Anxiety medications can be habit forming and may have unwanted side effects, so be sure to research your options.
Medication – A short prescription of benzodiazepine tablets, such as diazepam, may be helpful in relieving short-term stress-related anxieties. Beta blockers are the best drug class to control physical symptoms of anxiety & panic attack and are normaly prescribed to prevent rapid heartbeat, shaking and trembling related symptoms. Buspirone is another medicine that is prescribed in the short-term to relieve anxiety. Antidepressants such as paroxetine may be prescribed for certain anxiety disorders such as generalised anxiety disorder, social phobia and OCD, and when anxiety is associated with depression. Group therapy – with one or two specialised therapists, particularly helpfully for certain conditions such as difficultly relating to others or being scrutinised by others. Psychoeducation – recognition by the patient that they have a treatable medical condition, and self-education through books and websites, and mental health professionals.
Anxiety and Anxiety Attacks Treatment Tips

In today’s fast-paced world, do most of the people find 24 hours a day enough to accomplish the tasks that they wanted to? More often than not, they may find that they do not have enough time. This lack of time, load and pressure of work creates anxiety and produces panic situations. The result is mind full of tensions and worries. All these factors combined cause loss of sleep, loss of health and other kinds of mental and physical illnesses.
All these things combined drive a person to the use of anti-depressants and other medications. Anti-depressants have been quite popular in treating stress related diseases in the past and to an extent even now. Taking pills is a commonly observed scene across the world now. Nevertheless, is it the correct way out? Is there any other alternative to it?
Millions of people across the globe have been taking anti-depressants for years and are if not completely satisfied. However, anti-depressants take at least a few weeks to act on our body and a significant number of people taking these drugs are not very satisfied.
The biggest problem with the general physicians is that they have very little training in the field of anxiety and panic situations treatments. Thus, it does not become difficult only for the patient but also the doctor to prescribe drugs under such circumstances.
The point here is that it is not difficult to deal with cases of high cholesterol or blood pressure or high blood sugar etc. the doctor can prescribe any particular treatment for any of these diseases because there are established standards. You can take a few pills and it will come under control. However, unlike all these depression and anxiety is a very complicated illness. It cannot be analysed in a matter of a few hours and tests. The treatment for such illnesses can go on for up to a few months or years and even the medication goes on for an equally long time. Treatment could be very clearly inferred from here, since the results for this kind of illness are not instantaneous.
The important thing in dealing with such cases is the knowledge of the physician. The physician dealing with such kinds of cases must be well informed of the past and all the other related events in connection with the patient. He must also be well informed of the past illnesses and medication prescribed. It is the responsibility of the doctor that he must not make the patient entirely dependant on drugs. He should also encourage the patient to undergo psychotherapy as the main course of recovery and drugs should be used as a secondary curing agent.
Latest trends have proven that when psychotherapy and drugs are used together, they have a far more beneficial result than with pills alone. In addition, in most of the cases of mild attack only psychotherapy should be prescribed. This would also help in keeping the patient away from otherwise almost addictive anti-anxiety, anti-panic drugs.
Panic and anxiety lead to depression at a later stage and are the most common causes of suicides. Most of the teenage suicide cases have been largely due to the factors. As such, we do not see suicides as an innate part of depression but it is the end result in many a cases.
Conclusion
But at the end of the day it is up to you to decide whether you want to take these anti-depressant and anti-anxiety pills or not, but you must weigh the pros and cons of these medicines before taking any further steps. You must consult not just your doctor but also your parents, your friends, your spouse before making a final decision. Above all, you must be totally convinced of your state before going in for any kind of therapy.
